Cornbread Chili

1 1/2 lb ground beef
1 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can kidney beans, drained
1 (26oz) can pasta sauce
2 Tbsp chili powder
1/2 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp oregano
1 C shredded cheddar
2 (8.5oz) pkg corn muffin mix

Preheat oven to 400. Brown beef; drain. Add onion and garlic; saute lightly. Add beans, sauce and seasonings; simmer 20 minutes. Spoon into 9x13" baking dish. Sprinkle with cheese. Prepare corn muffin mix as directed on package. Spoon over casserole. Bake 20-25 minutes or until cornbread is done.
