1 pound frozen bread dough, thawed
4oz sweet Italian sausage
1/4 C chopped onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 tsp dried basil
1/4 tsp dried oregano
1/2 C Italian-style tomato sauce
1/2 C shredded mozzarella
2 Tbsp grated Parmesan
1 egg
2 Tbsp milk
Divide dough into 8 portions. Heat a large skillet over medium heat; add sausage. Cook until brown and crumbly; drain. Preheat oven to 425. Grease a baking sheet. Stir onion, garlic, basil, oregano and tomato sauce into skillet; simmer 10 minutes. Roll each dough piece into 5" circle. Spoon sausage mixture onto each circle; sprinkle with cheeses. Moisten edges of dough with water. Fold dough over to enclose filling; press to seal. Place on prepared baking sheet. Beat egg with milk. Brush over calzones. Bake about 15 minutes or until golden brown. Serve immediately.
