Marinara Sauce

2 Tbsp olive oil
1 medium onion, chopped
2 tsp minced garlic
1 (28oz) can crushed tomatoes
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried basil
1 whole bay leaf
1/2 tsp sugar
salt & pepper to taste

Heat oil in large pot over medium heat. Add onion and garlic. Saute 3-5 minutes. Add tomatoes; stir. Add herbs & bay leaf. Add sugar, salt and pepper. Lower heat and simmer 30 minutes, uncovered
